Louis F. Rose, DDS, MD is unique among his peers.  He is a periodontist who also has a degree in medicine.   He received his dental training at Temple University, graduate training in periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and his medical training at the Medical College of Pennsylvania.  In addition, he is Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and New York University and also Professor of Medicine and Surgery at Drexel University, College of Medicine.  Dr. Rose is a Diplomate and Director of the American Board of Periodontology and is on the editorial board of several peer reviewed journals, including the International Journal of Periodontology & Restorative Dentistry, Journal of Periodontology, Journal of Esthetic & Practical Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry and he is Editor-in-Chief of the Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry.  He maintains a private practice in Philadelphia limited to periodontics and implant dentistry.

 Dr. Rose is a nationally and internationally invited lecturer on periodontics, implant dentistry and medicine and has published extensively on these subjects.  This includes the textbooks: Internal Medicine for Dentistry, Periodontal Medicine and Periodontics: Medicine, Surgery and Implants.  In addition Dr. Rose has co-authored Periodontal Inflammation and Diabetes Mellitus published in Connections: Oral & Systemic Health Review and also  published in the journal, Current Opinion in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Obesity.
